TC “Young women NEETs: Towards inclusion and participation”, Thessaloniki, Greece, 11th-19th of January, 2014

Admission COMPLETED!

Institute of Ukrainian Studies is looking for 4 active Ukrainian young girls to take part in the project on 11-19 of January in Greece.

Recent European research points out a serious rise of the numbers of young women who are not in employment, education and training (NEET). Youth work rarely addresses the problems of inclusion and participation of young NEET women in Europe.

The project for a 8 days TC seeks to apply a multidimensional approach to tackle the intersectiontionality between age, gender and employability and examine methodologies, learning principles and desired outcomes in empowering young NEET women to participate meaningfully in social life and decision-making.

Hosted by the EMCCCD, the TC will bring in Thessaloniki, Greece, 40 youth workers from Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Romania, Armenia, Tunisia, Egypt and Georgia in order to discuss and learn about the role of youth work in promoting inclusion, participation and active citizenship of young NEET women.

Our training will address the problems of young women`s migration by means of nonformal learning, based on your experience, your motivation, your needs and your own learning objectives.

Non-formal education and learning is different from formal education or spontaneous informal learning. It means for instance, that you are at the training course because you wanted to yourself, and not because anyone told you that you have to be there. It also means that you are responsible for your own learning, while the team and the group support you. And it certainly means that your feedback is valid and important and will be used to improve future training courses.

And, let’s not forget that non-formal learning also means facing a challenge, experiencing and learning to cope with quite a bit of stress, but also – lots of fun!

Every participant is individually entitled to receive a Youthpass Certificate which confirms participation and validates the non-formal learning (NFL) experience of Youth Exchange project.
