Gender Perspectives in Europe
Tuesday October 8th, 2013
On 14-21 September 2013, the Armenian Progressive Youth NGO held a Partnership Building Activity Gender Perspectives in Europe in Yerevan, Armenia, where the Institute of Ukrainian Studies was represented by Olga Pitulei. The activity brought together 42 young people from Western, Northern, and Eastern Europe, and Caucasus – the representatives of NGOs, experts, and youth workers working in the field of gender equality in their countries.
The main purpose of the Partnership Building Activity was to bring together Armenian and European organisations to promote cooperation in the field of gender equality. The week-long programme became a unique platform for the NGOs to develop new projects and ideas on gender equality and prevention of domestic violence against women. The participants also visited Armenian NGOs that work on gender equality, developed partnerships, and discussed equal representation of women and men, violence against women, and ways of fighting it in their countries.
Special thanks to Grigor Yeritsyan and the Armenian team for hosting this great project, and to all the participants for making it even greater!
