Equal Education Possibilities – Different Abilities (EEP-DA) 12 – 20 May 2013, Baku, Azerbaijan
Saturday June 1st, 2013
A fresh wind blow from the Caspian Sea has spread all over Europe!
Members of youth organizations of Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Croatia, Moldova, Italy, Poland and members of the host organization of Azerbaijan came together in the heart of the historical center of Baku Icherishahar. Our trainers and facilitators of the project – Giorgi Aronia from Georgia and Attila Sandor from Hungary, gave us a very interesting direction in which the whole course was held. Olexandr Melnyk, Mykhaylo Hevko and Olexiy Lavrynenko represented IUS on the project.
The project “Equal Education Possibilities- Different abilities” (EP-DA) involved training course and active discussions. Discussions were focused around all kind of problems avoiding people having education and about the possible steps on the way to solution and implementation of results.
We were invited to a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Azerbaijan, where participants could establish contacts with local NGOs and active youth. We also visited international “Live History Festival” in Baku and local NGO. Throughout the project we learned from each other about educational opportunities in each country for people with disabilities. The methods of non-formal education provided a lot of games and interactive activities in which important information was perceived very well.
In addition to major themes of the event, we had time to organize international evenings, cook Italian pasta, sing Croatian songs, listen to Georgian toasts and dance Ukrainian hopak. We also all together watched Eurovision 2013 and rooting not only for singers from our own countries, but kept our fingers crossed for performances from the our friends’ countries. We want to thank trainers, organizers, participants and charming Baku for this very good project!
